YB has made metal the center of Odyssey, using the album to revive a long-held ambition while extending the band's musical range.

The six tracks, including the title song Orchid, move away from some of YB's familiar textures toward a heavier sound. The album follows a character searching for identity and freedom amid pressure and conflict.

Yoon Do-hyun proposed the direction to his bandmates and recruited younger metal guitarists and arrangers to help shape the record. Bassist Park Tae-hee described that collaboration as both useful and meaningful.

The advance track Rebellion features the younger band Xdinary Heroes. YB presents the partnership as a genuine exchange between generations rather than a symbolic guest appearance.

Fellow rock musicians attending the album listening event praised the group's longevity and persistence. For YB, Odyssey joins creative risk with an effort to strengthen connections across Korea's band scene.
